The Hillsdale Conservation District is hosting river clean-up events this summer, including two near the headwaters of the Kalamazoo River. Kanoe the Kazoo paddle event, June 22
Join us for a 2 hour paddle down the Kalamazoo River as we celebrate the beautiful of this now free flowing section of the river. We will meet at Fannie Pell Park in Plainwell on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 1:00 pm to shuttle vehicles and sign-in. We plan to get on the river around 2:00 pm. Registration is recommended, but not required. REGISTER HERE

Allegan State Game Area meeting, June 20th
Want to learn more about management of the Allegan State Game Area and provide input?
The Kalamazoo River Protection Association will host a public meeting on Thursday, June 20 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm in the auditorium of the Allegan County Area Technical and Education Center located at 2891 – 116th Avenue (M-222) in Allegan.
The meeting will focus on several topics, including the status of the game area master plan, impacts on biodiversity due to recent law changes, proposed timber sales, gas and oil leases, and the status of the proposed Crooked Lake Natural Area designation.

Kalamazoo TMDL meeting
Please join us on Thursday, May 16 from 9:00 – 11:00 am for our quarterly meeting of the Lake Allegan/Kalamazoo River Phosphorus TMDL Implementation Committee. We meet at the Kalamazoo Water Reclamation Plant at 1415 Harrison St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
