In February 2024 we published an interactive Story Map to help explain the past, present, and hopeful future surrounding some of the most difficult challenges to a high quality Kalamazoo River environment, namely polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and hydroelectric dams. The Kalamazoo River Watershed Council plays a significant role in telling that story, and in fact is part of the story of recovery within a sometimes difficult-to-understand mix of state, federal, public, and private dollars and activity.
