Communication Center Background

In 2005 hundreds of watershed stakeholders and managers came together at a Watershed Forum held in Battle Creek, Michigan to talk about past accomplishments and current projects. When they looked toward the future of watershed management, they concluded that there was a need for an organization that could connect the many efforts underway within the watershed and speak on diverse, large-scale watershed issues. With guidance and support from a working group of watershed partners, the Kalamazoo River Watershed Council agreed to serve this function on behalf of the watershed community. The Council will keep people connected, serving as a watershed communication center where individuals and groups can share ideas, find support and resources, and get in touch with others with common interests and goals.

As part of the Kalamazoo River Watershed Communication Center, our newsletter provides watershed stakeholders with a regular source of information on the major events, news, and accomplishments happening in the Kalamazoo River Watershed.
